Delete Your Account
Last updated: 19 July 2026
You can request deletion of your Findr account and data at any time. This page explains both ways to do it and exactly what happens to your data at each step.
Option 1: Delete in the app (fastest)
- Open Findr and sign in.
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Delete Account and confirm.
This takes effect immediately: your profile is hidden from other users, and your matches and likes are cleared right away.
Option 2: Request deletion by email
If you can't access the app (for example, you're locked out of your account), email privacy@findr.date from the address associated with your account and ask us to delete it, or use our contact form. We will verify your request and process it within a reasonable time.
What actually happens to your data
Deletion is a two-step process so that an accidental tap, or a request made in the heat of the moment, doesn't cost you an account you meant to keep:
- Immediately: your profile is hidden from discovery and other users, you are signed out, and your active matches and likes are cleared. Nobody can see or message you.
- Restore window (currently 30 days): if you sign back in during this window, your account is reactivated and your profile data is restored. Nothing is lost. This exists purely to protect against accidental or impulsive deletions.
- After the restore window: if you do not sign back in, your account and associated data (profile, photos, videos, voice prompts, and messages) are permanently and irreversibly deleted from our systems, other than information we are required to retain for legal, safety, or fraud-prevention purposes.
If you want your data purged immediately rather than waiting out the restore window, say so in your email to privacy@findr.date and we will permanently delete your account without waiting for the window to lapse.
What is deleted
- Your profile (name, birth date, gender, sexual orientation, and other profile fields)
- Photos, videos, and voice prompts you uploaded
- Messages you sent and received
- Location data associated with your account
- Connected-account data (for example, Spotify), if applicable
- Device identifiers tied to your account (push token, advertising identifier)
Aggregated or de-identified analytics that can no longer be tied back to you, and records we must keep for legal, security, or fraud-prevention obligations, may be retained beyond this window.
