Privacy Policy
Last updated: 19 July 2026
Findr ("Findr", "we", "us") operates the Findr mobile app and the findr.date website (together, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. By creating a Findr account, you agree to this Privacy Policy and to our Terms of Service.
Findr is intended for adults only. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
1. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account & profile details: name, email address, date of birth, gender, and sexual orientation (used to power matching and shown on your profile as you configure it). We treat gender and sexual orientation as sensitive information and handle it with additional care.
- Photos, videos, and voice prompts: media you upload to your profile, including photo prompts, short video prompts, and voice prompts. This media is shown to other users as part of your profile.
- Location: approximate and precise location, used to show you people nearby and to power distance filters and geocoding (city/area lookup).
- Messages: the content of chats you send and receive with matches through the Service.
- App activity: interactions such as swipes, likes, and feature usage, collected via analytics to help us understand and improve the Service.
- Crash & diagnostic data: crash logs and performance diagnostics used to fix bugs and keep the app stable.
- Device identifiers: a push-notification token (so we can deliver notifications) and, where applicable, an advertising identifier used to serve ads.
- Optional connected accounts: if you choose to connect Spotify, we receive limited profile/listening information (such as top artists) to display on your profile.
2. How we use your information
We use the information above to:
- Create and maintain your account and profile;
- Show you potential matches and show your profile to other users;
- Power location-based discovery and distance display;
- Deliver chat messaging between matched users;
- Send push notifications about matches, messages, and account activity;
- Detect, prevent, and act on fraud, abuse, harassment, and policy violations;
- Monitor app stability and diagnose crashes;
- Understand feature usage so we can improve the Service; and
- Show ads and measure their performance, where applicable.
3. Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share information with the service providers below, each of which processes it on our behalf or as part of your explicit choice:
- Google: Firebase (push notifications, app infrastructure), Firebase Analytics (app activity/analytics), Firebase Crashlytics (crash and diagnostic data), and AdMob (advertising, using the advertising identifier).
- Supabase: our database, authentication, and storage provider, which hosts account data, profile data, and messages.
- Cloudflare: media storage and content delivery for photos, videos, and voice prompts.
- Spotify: only if you choose to connect your Spotify account, to retrieve information you authorize for display on your profile.
- Geoapify: location search and reverse geocoding (converting coordinates to a place name) to power location features.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
4. Data security
Data sent between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). We use industry-standard access controls with our infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Data retention & account deletion
You can request deletion of your account and data at any time, either in the app (Settings → Delete Account) or via the web at findr.date/delete-account. See that page for full details on what happens to your data, the restore window, and how to permanently purge your data sooner or without app access.
7. Your choices & rights
- You can edit or remove profile information, photos, and prompts at any time in the app.
- You can disconnect Spotify at any time from your profile settings.
- You can control notification permissions from your device settings.
- You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us at privacy@findr.date.
8. International use
Our service providers may process and store information in countries other than your own. By using the Service, you consent to your information being transferred to and processed in those locations.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the app or by email before the change takes effect. Continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
